Regular and Goofy are used to describe a skateboarder’s stance, with either the left or the right foot placed in front. Most skateboarders don’t choose their stance but rather find one of these positions more natural and easier than the other.

Regular or Goofy

Regular is when a skateboarder prefers to skateboard with their left foot in front and Goofy is where a skateboarder prefers to skateboard with their right foot in front.

Usually a skateboarder prefers one stance over the other, but sometimes although very rare a skateboarder can find both Regular and Goofy stances to be natural.

Switch

Switch is when a skateboarder skates in other than their preferred stance, for example a Goofy skateboarder skating in a Regular stance would be skating Switch.
